Political Correctness Be Damned!

Congressman LTC Allen West once again states the uncomfortable, politically incorrect truth (all emphasis mine):

West said the political correctness intimidates people from saying what he believes is true about Islam.

"If we continue down this road, as I call it multiculturalism on steroids, then we're going to present a gap by which we can get exploited time and time again. So I think that we have to start kind of like in baseball the umpire calls a ball a ball and a strike as strike and it's time that we start calling some strikes out there."

"I am not sitting up here and condemning people who call themselves Muslims," West said. "Now is the time we have to challenge this ideology. If we are to peacefully coexist they have to come into the 21st Century and push aside a lot of these 7th Century ideas they still hold."

West said he thinks that makes Islam a particular threat.

"We have to understand that the major religions of the world, Judaism and Christianity did go through reformations. Now when you look at this next major religion, I call it a theocratic political construct ideology, they need to go through a reform of the process as well.

"Ever since Muhammad left Mecca and took his Hijrah to Medina there was a violent turn to this faith that is called Islam. And we must confront that and we must understand that….

The last paragraph touches on what I wrote in comments under Howie’s post about the Taliban.

There are peaceful verses in the quran, and there are violent verses, as there are in other Holy Books. Muslims are free to select which of those verses they choose to embrace. But the quran has one distinguishing feature that other holy texts don’t have – the quran states which of those conflicting verses are valid and which are abrogated. One only needs to do simple research about the chronological order of the quran to understand how certain verses have become more relevant than others.

Are there peaceful Muslims who choose to only embrace the peaceful aspects of Islam and dismiss the violent aspects? Certainly. A majority do. But we cannot, in good conscience, ignore the truth that Islamic extremists do have religious justification to commit the atrocities they commit.

This is something Muslims, as a whole, need to address. They should be the first to challenge radical ideology of Islamic extremists. Since it would be impossible to dispute justification the quran (and Muhammad's own example) supports, West correctly states, there is a necessity for reformation.

But in the absence of their collective condemnation and reformation, it is imperative that all people who recognize the barbarity and inhumanity of terrorism to stand up for the truth. Knowledge is the greatest weapon of all. And as long as there is a brave few willing to speak out truthfully, however politically incorrect, there is hope.

Geert Wilders Speech At Ground Zero

Recorded on September 11, 2010.

Geert Wilders speaks about the proposed victory Mosque at Ground Zero. This is the SIOA event held yesterday in New York.Tens of thousands showed up to protest the Mosque, but the media has been virtually silent about it.

For full coverage of the event, visit Jihad Watch, Atlas Shrugs, or the Urban Infidel (which has a great gallery of images).

Special thanks to Kitman TV.

"Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves."
~Abraham Lincoln

The text of Geert's speech:

Dear friends,

May I ask you to be silent for ten seconds? Just be silent and listen. Ten seconds. And listen...

What we hear are the sounds of life in the greatest city on earth. No place in the world, no place in human history, is as richly varied and vibrant and dynamic as New York City.

You hear the cars, you hear the people, you hear them rushing to their various destinations, you hear the sounds of business and of pleasure, you hear the cheers, you hear the cries, the buzzing sounds of human activity. And that is how it should be. Always.

Now close your eyes - I know it's a beautiful day, but close your eyes. I have been told that this day nine years ago was just such a beautiful day -- and remember, or try to remember, or try to imagine the sounds which were heard here on this spot under this same blue sky exactly nine years ago.

The sound of shock, the sound of destruction, the sound of panic, the sound of pain, the sound of terror.

Did New York deserve this? Did America deserve this? Did the West deserve this?

What, my friends, would you say to people who argue that New York, that America, that the West had itself to blame for those horrible sounds? There are people in this city who argue this. And they are angry because we are gathered here today to commemorate, to make a stand, to draw the line.

My friends, I have come from the other side of the Atlantic to share your grief for those who died here nine years ago.

I have not forgotten how I felt that day.

The scenes are imprinted on my soul, as they are on yours.

But our hearts were not broken in the same way as the hearts of the relatives and friends of those who lost their lives here. Many relatives of the victims are here in our midst today. I wish to take this opportunity to express my deepest and most heartfelt condolences to them and to all of the people of New York and America.

Humbly, I stand here before you as a Dutchman and a European.

I, too, however, cannot forget.

How can anyone forget?

Let me remind you of the words from Darryl Worley's 9/11 song.

Have you forgotten how it felt that day?

To see your homeland under fire

And her people blown away

Have you forgotten when those towers fell?

We had neighbors still inside going thru a living hell

Worley's response is our response: No, we will NEVER forget.

We are here today because we have not forgotten all the loved ones that were lost and those left to carry on. And neither has the world.

When the forces of Jihad attacked New York, they attacked the world.

Among those lost were people from 55 nations, people of every religion and every persuasion. No place on earth had a more multi-ethnic, multi-racial, and multi-lingual workforce than New York's proud towers.

That is exactly why they were targeted. They constituted an insult to those who hold that there can be no peaceful cooperation among people and nations without submission to Sharia; to those who wish to impose the legal system of Islam on the rest of us.

But New York and Sharia are incompatible. New York stands for freedom, openness and tolerance.

New York's Mayor recently said that New York is "rooted in Dutch tolerance." Those are true words. New York is not intolerant. How can it be? New York is open to the world.

Suppose New York were intolerant. Suppose it only allowed people of one persuasion within its walls.

Then it would be like Mecca, a city without freedom.

Whatever your religion, persuasion or gender is, in New York you will find a home. In Mecca, if your religion isn't Islam, you are not welcome.

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf claims the right to build a mosque, a house of Sharia here - on this hallowed ground.

But, friends, I have not forgotten and neither have you. That is why we are here today. To draw the line. Here, on this sacred spot. We are here in the spirit of America's founding fathers. We are here in the spirit of freedom. We are here in the spirit of Abraham Lincoln, the President who freed the slaves.

President Lincoln said: "Those who deny freedom to others, deserve it not for themselves."

These words are the key to our survival. The tolerance that is crucial to our freedom requires a line of defense.

Mayor Bloomberg uses tolerance as an argument to allow Imam Rauf and his sponsors to build their so-called Cordoba Mosque.

Mayor Bloomberg forgets, however, that openness cannot be open-ended. A tolerant society is not a suicidal society.

It must defend itself against the powers of darkness, the force of hatred and the blight of ignorance. It cannot tolerate the intolerant - and survive.

This means that we must not give a free hand to those who want to subjugate us.

An overwhelming majority of Americans is opposed to building this mosque. So is an overwhelming majority everywhere in the non-Islamic world.

Because we all realize what is at stake here. We know what this so-called Cordoba mosque really means.

Imam Rauf maintains that American secular law and Sharia law are based on the same principles. He refuses to condemn terrorists because he says terrorism is "a very complex question".

He says America is "an accessory to the crime that happened on 9/11." "In fact," he literally said, "in the most direct sense, Osama bin Laden is made in the USA."

He also says that "terrorism will only end when the West acknowledges the harm it has done to Muslims."

That is why this man should not play the game he has in mind here in Manhattan. His "Blame the West, Blame America"-message is an insult. Americans - and by extension, all of us whose civilization was also attacked on 9/11/2001 - are not to blame for what happened here nine years ago today.

Osama bin Laden is not made in the USA. The West never "harmed" Islam before it harmed us.

Most Americans do not want this so-called Cordoba Mosque to be built here. They understand that it is both a provocation and a humiliation. They understand the triumphant narrative of a mosque named after the Great Mosque of Cordoba which was constructed where a Christian cathedral stood before the land was conquered by Islam.

An overwhelming majority of Americans is opposed to building an Islamic cultural center close to Ground Zero. There is no lack of mosques in New York. There are dozens of buildings in which Muslims can pray. It isn't about a lack of space for prayers. It's about the symbolic meaning.

We who have come to speak today, object to this mosque project because its promoter and his wealthy sponsors have never suggested building a center to promote tolerance and interfaith understanding where it is really needed: In Mecca - a town where non-Muslims are not even allowed to enter, let alone build churches, synagogues, temples or community centers.

Ordinary Americans object to the mosque project because currently no fewer than ten major multi-million dollar mosque projects are being planned in the United States as well as dozens in Europe, while not a single church is allowed in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, while Jews are not even allowed to move their lips in prayer on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, while the oldest Christians in the world, the Copts, are not free to renovate their churches, let alone to build one in Egypt.

My friends, that is why we are here today. What happens in New York must be seen in the perspective of the world. The events nine years ago made an enormous impact everywhere. Most people shared your pain, but, unfortunately, some did not.

Nine years ago, when the news of the terrible atrocity in New York reached Europe, Muslim youths danced in the streets. In a poll, two thirds of the Muslim immigrants in the Netherlands expressed partial or full understanding for the 9/11 terrorists.

If a mosque were built here on Ground Zero such people would feel triumphant.

But we, we will not betray those who died on 9/11.

For their sakes we cannot tolerate a mosque on or near Ground Zero.

For their sakes loud and clear we say: No mosque here!

For their sakes, we must draw the line.

So that New York, rooted in Dutch tolerance, will never become New Mecca.

But, let us also express our gratitude for the heroes of 9/11, those who went down in that Pennsylvania field, those who were standing freedom's watch at the Pentagon, and those who were here in New York nine years ago to risk and lose their lives for the victims.

Friends, in honor of these victims, these heroes and their families, I believe that the words of Ronald Reagan, spoken in Normandy on the 40th anniversary of D-Day, resonate with new purpose on this hallowed spot. President Reagan said: "We will always remember. We will always be proud. We will always be prepared, so we may always be free."

And, we, too, will always remember the victims of 9/11 and their loved ones who were left behind;

We, too, will always be proud of the heroes;

We will always defend liberty, democracy and human dignity;

In the name of freedom: No mosque here!

Serbian Muslims Damn Americans, Jews, Deny 9/11

These are the type people we saved from the brutal Serbian crackdown on Muslim extremism during the Kosovo war. More thanks from Islamic ingrates.

The accused Muslim terrorists whose trial started today in Serbia refused to rise when the judge entered the courtroom and later declared that they "acknowledge only Allah" and accused the Serbian prosecution of submitting an indictment that looks like it was written by the US President George Bush.

In the courtroom, the accused Muslims declared that Americans and Jews stood behind the 9/11 attacks and cursed both the Americans and Jews wishing that the Allah, the Muslim god, bring down damnation on the two peoples.

"When 2001 the Americans and Jews, may Allah damn them until the judgment day, brought down those buildings and accused the Muslims, it was ordered that we remove our beards. Chief of police in Novi Pazar told us that it is better that we do that ourselves then for him to remove them," said the accused Muslim Senad Ramovic.

Ramovic and 14 other Muslims are accused of conspiring to kill an Imam Muamar Zukorlic, bomb the US Embassy in Serb capital Belgrade and other objects across Serbia. Police found ammunition, weapons, bomb making material, videos glorifying suicide death for Jihad along with extensive communication files with various al-Qaeda terrorists in Bosnia and Saudi Arabia.

Ramovic told the court that no plan of attack existed and that the two training camps in the mountains that the police uncovered were locales where pious Muslims prayed. The weapons, says Ramovic, are collectable trophy weapons not intended for murder.

This Day In History

One has to wonder, had Pearl Harbor been attacked by radical Muslims, would Iraq, Iran, and Saudi Arabia be a glass desert? Had the current environment of political correctness existed in 1941, would we still have troops in Japan trying to win the hearts and minds of citizens while attempting to flush out the more radical elements? Would we have targeted aviation, the method of the attack, just as today we are in the Middle East targeting 'terrorism' - the method of the attack on 9/11?

On Sunday morning, December 7, 1941, American neutrality in World War II ends when Japanese forces conduct a surprise attack on the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Over 400 planes from six Japanese carriers bombed the harbor and airfield, and within two hours much of the American Pacific fleet was rendered useless. Losses were devastating: Five of eight battleships, three destroyers, and seven other ships were sunk or severely damaged, and more than half the island's aircraft were destroyed. Fortunately for the Americans, all three U.S. Pacific fleet carriers were out at sea. A total of 2,400 Americans were killed and 1,200 were wounded in the attack. Japan's losses were 29 planes and four midget submarines. The next day, Japan attacked the Philippines, Malaya, Thailand, and Hong Kong, while Britain and the United States declared war on Japan.

The History Channel

An excerpt from Dan Simmon's Time Traveler:

"So you kept telling yourselves," said the Time Traveler. His voice was very low but there was a strange and almost frightening edge to it. "But the 'peace' in 'Islam' means 'Submission.' You’ll find that out soon enough"

Great, I was thinking. Of all the time travelers in all the gin joints in all the world, I get this racist, xenophobic, right-wing asshole.

"After Nine-eleven, we’re fighting terrorism," I began, "not..."

He waved me into silence.

"You were a philosophy major or minor at that podunk little college you went to long ago," said the Time Traveler. "Do you remember what Category Error is?"

It rang a bell. But I was too irritated at hearing my alma mater being called a "podunk little college" to be able to concentrate fully.

"I’ll tell you what it is," said the Time Traveler. "In philosophy and formal logic, and it has its equivalents in science and business management, Category Error is the term for having stated or defined a problem so poorly that it becomes impossible to solve that problem, through dialectic or any other means."

I waited. Finally I said firmly, "You can’t go to war with a religion. Or, I mean... sure, you could... the Crusades and all that... but it would be wrong."

The Time Traveler sipped his Scotch and looked at me. He said, "Let me give you an analogy..."

God, I hated and distrusted analogies. I said nothing.

"Let’s imagine," said the Time Traveler, "that on December eighth, Nineteen forty-one, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt spoke before a joint session of Congress and asked them to declare war on aviation."

"That’s absurd," I said.

"Is it?" asked the Time Traveler. "The American battleships, cruisers, harbor installations, Army barracks, and airfields at Pearl Harbor and elsewhere in Hawaii were all struck by Japanese aircraft. Imagine if the next day Roosevelt had declared war on aviation... threatening to wipe it out wherever we found it. Committing all the resources of the United States of America to defeating aviation, so help us God."

"That’s just stupid," I said. If I’d ever been afraid of this Time Traveler, I wasn’t now. He was obviously a mental defective. "The planes, the Japanese planes," I said, "were just a method of attack... a means... it wasn’t aviation that attacked us at Pearl Harbor, but the Empire of Japan. We declared war on Japan and a few days later its ally, Germany, lived up to its treaty with the Japanese and declared war on us. If we’d declared war on aviation, on goddamned airplanes rather than the empire and ideology that launched them, we’d never have..."

I stopped. What had he called it? Category Error. Making the problem unsolvable through your inability – or fear – of defining it correctly.

Islamic Terrorists Planning Attacks in America

WASHINGTON (AFP) - Islamic radicals from Iraq and Afghanistan planned a terrorist attack on a US intelligence center that trains military interrogators for Guantanamo Bay and other detention centers, The Washington Times reported Monday.

Citing confidential law enforcement documents, the newspaper said the plot targeted Fort Huachuca, an Army base located next to the Arizona town of Sierra Vista, about 15 miles (24 kilometers) north of the US-Mexican border.

Last May, the base was forced to beef up security measures after commanders were warned that possibly as many as 60 Afghan and Iraqi radicals had been smuggled into the United States through underground tunnels built and manned by Mexican drug cartels, the report said.

http://news.yahoo.com

Still think border security isn't as important as defeating terrorism? Think again.

It took 19 terrorists to kill 3,000 Americans on 9/11. Those 19 terrorists dropped two skyscrapers and hijacked & crashed four airplanes. This report indicates up to three times as many Muslim terrorists have entered this country in recent months. This number doesn't include the conspirators who are already here providing support. Who owns the warehouses where the tunnels end? Muslims? Or the Mexican drug cartels? Perhaps the truth is even more nefarious.

America's weakness is our (lack of) border security. Until we can realistically address this, our country will always be at risk.

The Grim Milestone The Media Won't Report

That's 10,001 deadly Islamic terrorist attacks. At least one innocent life was cut short in each and every one of these acts; in some cases, dozens or even hundreds, were murdered.

The Grim Milestone the media won't report, and liberals won't acknowledge.

UPDATE: Yesterday, FrontPageMagazine.com wrote an article about the impending milestone, with a little information about TROP:

The establishment media is seemingly obsessed with “grim milestones” in the War on Terror, as the Associated Press reminds us this past weekend. But in the next week those same establishment media outlets will probably stand mute when yet another “grim milestone” is reached – the10,000th attack by Islamic terrorists and militants since 9/11, which is responsible for approximately 60,000 dead and 90,000 injured.

The chronicler of this bloody tally is Glen Reinsford, editor of TheReligionofPeace.com, who began compiling and updating daily a detailed list of reported incidents of violence and terrorism around the world targeting non-Muslims and Muslims alike. Because of space limitations he only posts the past two months worth of attacks on his websites main page, though he has archived all of the incidents from past years (2001-2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007). He also maintains a banner graphic with the updated number of attacks, which people can post on their own websites.

When asked what prompted him to begin such a labor-intensive undertaking, Reinsford identifies the tepid response to Islamic terrorism by otherwise outspoken Muslim groups, with one organization particularly in mind:

The Council on American-Islamic Relations. After 9/11, I kept an eye on them and was quite disgusted by their lack of moral perspective. They complain about issues that affect Muslims which are quite trivial, on average, compared to what is happening in the name of their religion. They do occasionally denounce terror in a general, somewhat ambiguous, sense but there is an obvious lack of passion. Their real interest is themselves.

9/11 Mastermind Claims To Have Converted To Christianity

Ramzi Yousef, the mastermind of the first terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, claims he converted from Islam to Christianity, Scott Pelley reports in a story that brings viewers inside the secretive "Supermax" prison where he is being held. Pelley also reports that some 900 force feedings were performed on other al-Qaeda terrorists who went on repeated hunger strikes to protest conditions at the Colorado top-security federal prison. The 60 MINUTES segment will be broadcast Sunday Oct. 14 (7:30-9:00 PM, ET/7:00-9:00 PM, PT) on the CBS Television Network.
