Symbols Of Hatred: Confederate Flag Banned; Quran Is Not

A piece of cloth with a pattern coloured in red, white, and blue has been deemed offensive by a high school in Minnesota:

The boys argue they never took the flags off their trucks, but they admit they brought them to the school.

Officials asked the students to remove the flags. Eventually, all three students were suspended for three days -- which, in this case, included graduation.

Officials say a Student Code of Conduct prohibits behavior that may provoke or offend other students.

"We are very clear that the Confederate flag is a symbol of hatred, bigotry and racism," said Rick Kaufman, the Executive Director of Community Relations at Bloomington Kennedy High School.

Yet a book that promotes racism, bigotry, and specifically demands the murders of innocent people, is appropriate. A book that teaches its followers to steal and hate is welcomed.

Sura (2:191-193) "And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution [of Muslims] is worse than slaughter [of non-believers]...and fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah."

Sura (3:151) "Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority"

Sura (5:33) "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief* in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement"
*"make mischief" includes promoting or openly displaying any religion other than Islam

Sura (9:29) "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."

Sura (9:41) "Go forth, light-armed and heavy-armed, and strive with your wealth and your lives in the way of Allah! That is best for you if ye but knew."

Sura (9:123) "O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness."

Sura (66:9) "O Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be stern with them. Hell will be their home, a hapless journey's end."

Sura (8:55) Surely the vilest of animals in Allah's sight are those who disbelieve

Sura (9:30) And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah... Allah (Himself) fights against them. How perverse are they!

The hypocrisy of the PC left.

Not necessarily hypocrisy if they don't know. I remember back (pre-9/11) when I was given a Quran by a really nice Muslim coworker. Because I confident in my Christian faith, I didn't expect to agree with the Quran, but just that I'd find a mix of truth and error, perhaps some nice ideas here and there, but in any case I wasn't expecting such a hateful book. To me other religious writings and beliefs, Hindu, Buddhist, whatever, might seem unbelievable but I read them to understand other perspectives, so I figured the Quran would be along the same line, erroneous but not obviously hateful. Probably a lot of the PC folks are in the same boat, they're just uninformed but not necessarily hypocrites.

Very true, Anon. I agree to an extent, but at the same time, as one who has worked hard in the past couple of years to expose the hatred and intolerance of the quran, I see too many people who are given the opportunity to learn the truth but they reject it.

They would prefer to label people like me as "islamophobic" rather than picking up a quran and learning for themselves.

Thanks for the comment! :)
