Olmert Backpeddling

While Palestinian militants cede nothing Israel's Prime Minister Olmert surrendered everything, even voluntarily submitting to discrimination and anti-Semitism.

As terrorists' missiles rain down on Israeli civilians, Olmert makes desperate attempts to appease more rational Israeli Cabinet members:

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told his Cabinet on Sunday that Israel was not bound by a December 2008 target to reach a peace agreement with the Palestinians, and reasserted that no deal would be carried out until Palestinian militants were reined in.

Olmert spoke during the first Cabinet meeting since last week's U.S.-hosted Mideast summit, where he and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas officially relaunched peace talks and set the ambitious target date for an agreement.

Bush Administration Legitimized Arab Anti-Semitism

(Hat Tip: Snapped Shot)

This week the Bush Administration legitimized Arab anti-Semitism. In an effort to please the Saudis and their Arab brothers, the Bush administration agreed to physically separate the Jews from the Arabs at the Annapolis conference in a manner that aligns with the apartheid policies of the Arab world which prohibit Israelis from setting foot on Arab soil.

Evident everywhere, the discrimination against Israel received its starkest expression at the main assembly of the Annapolis conference on Tuesday. There, in accordance with Saudi demands, the Americans prohibited Israeli representatives from entering the hall through the same door as the Arabs.

At the meeting of foreign ministers on Wednesday, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni called her Arab counterparts to task for their discriminatory treatment. "Why doesn't anyone want to shake my hand? Why doesn't anyone want to be seen speaking to me?" she asked pointedly.

Israel's humiliated foreign minister did not receive support from her American counterpart. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who spent her childhood years in the segregated American South, sided with the Arabs. Although polite enough to note that she doesn't support the slaughter of Israelis, she made no bones about the fact that her true sympathies lie with the racist Arabs.

As she put it, "I know what it is like to hear that you cannot go on a road or through a checkpoint because you are a Palestinian. I understand the feeling of humiliation and powerlessness."

Rice's remarks make clear that for the Secretary of State there is no difference between Israelis trying to defend themselves from a jihadist Palestinian society which supports the destruction of the Jewish state and bigoted white Southerners who oppressed African Americans because of the color of their skin. It is true that Israel has security concerns, but as far as Rice is concerned, the Palestinians are the innocent victims. They are the ones who are discriminated against and humiliated, not Livni, who was forced - by Rice - to enter the conference through the service entrance.

The Bush administration's tolerance for discrimination against Israel was not merely ceremonial. Diplomatically, the conference was equally prejudicial. At Annapolis, the US joined the Arabs in placing the lion's share of blame for the absence of peace between Israel and the Palestinians on Israel. But you wouldn't know that from listening to Olmert, who is working steadily to hide what happened there.

Olmert obfuscates the truth because his political stability rests in the hands of his hawkish coalition partners Yisrael Beiteinu and Shas. Both warned before the summit that if Olmert made any concessions on either Jerusalem or the so-called outpost communities in Judea and Samaria they would bolt his coalition and so spur new elections.

Maybe They, Too, Will Overcome

In Annapolis, Condoleezza Rice compared the Palestinian plight to that of blacks in the segregated south during the tumultuous 60's:

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told a closed meeting of Arab and Israeli envoys in Annapolis this week that her childhood in the segregated U.S. south helped her to understand the plight of Palestinians and the fear felt by Israelis, the Dutch representative to the summit, Franz Timmermans, told the Washington Post on Thursday.

"I know what its like to hear that you can't use a certain road, or pass through a checkpoint because you are a Palestinian. I know what it is like to feel discriminated against and powerless," Rice was reported as saying.

So, the Palestinians are just innocent victims being discriminated against? Does this mean Rice believes Israelis should be compared to the white racists who perpetrated acts of violence against innocents? We mustn't have blind pandering without the compulsory, condescending, politically correct counter-balance:

Rice described her childhood in Birmingham, Alabama during the era of segregation and the killing of four young girls in the bombing of Birmingham's 16th Street Baptist Church bombing in 1963. Rice said the bombing, which killed one of her classmates, helps her understand the fear of terrorism felt by Israelis.

"Like Israelis, I understand what it's like to go to sleep not knowing if you will be hurt in an explosion, the feeling of terror walking around your own neighborhood, or walking to your house of prayer," Rice was quoted in the Washington Post as saying.

You can't have it both ways, Ms. Rice. If both sides are victims, there is no aggressor.

I'm no authority on the civil rights movement, but I don't recall systematic violence being perpetrated by blacks against white southerners. I simply don't remember black militants committing atrocious acts of barbarity, with the support of surrounding black communities, against innocent civilians. I cannot recall any instance of black mobs lynching innocent whites, and then celebrating by feasting on the victim's internal organs (WARNING: Link Contains Graphic Imagery).

The fear of torture, mutilation or death cannot be compared to the inconvenience of entering a checkpoint. And yet, it seems the Bush Administration has ignorantly empowered one of the basic tenets of Islamic supremacy from the Qur'an itself. Persecution is worse than slaughter (Surah 2:191).

Snapped Shot On Annapolis

Brian at Snapped Shot has this from Annapolis:

Says the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia at the Annapolis summit:

Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the United States rejected recognizing Israel as a Jewish state.

"There are 1.5 million civilians in Israel who do not define themselves as Jewish," Adel al-Jubeir told reporters at the U.S.-convened Israeli-Palestinian peace talks in Annapolis, Md.

"We do not believe states should define themselves according to religion or ethnicity."

Says the Saudi Arabian constitution:

Article 1
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a sovereign Arab Islamic state with Islam as its religion; God's Book and the Sunnah of His Prophet, God's prayers and peace be upon him, are its constitution, Arabic is its language and Riyadh is its capital.

The Muslim hypocrisy never ceases to amaze.

While Israel Negotiates Peace, Islamic Terrorists Plot

(Hat Tip: Ron)

Hours before the start of the U.S.-backed Annapolis summit aimed at handing the West Bank to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas' organization, Israel cracked down on a cell of leading Palestinians suspected of setting up a Hamas military arm for the terror group to take over the strategic territory, WND has learned.

Hamas leaders in recent weeks vowed their organization would seize the West Bank if Israel hands the territory to Abbas, just as Hamas seized the Gaza Strip last June, overtaking all U.S.-backed Fatah security compounds in less than one week.

The West Bank borders Jerusalem and is within rocket range of Tel Aviv and Israel's international airport.

A lesson on Islam Israel needs to heed:

Hudna = A false truce or cease fire. Muhammad used this tactic to rearm before attacking an enemy. Hudna is frequently used by Islamic military forces.

Muslim Hypocrisy in Annapolis

The Saudi delegate at the Annapolis peace conference could only place blame on one party for the unrest in the Middle East:

"Peace emanates from the heart and mind, and not from the barrel of a cannon, or the exploding warhead of a missile," he said.

"The time has come for Israel to put its trust in peace after it has gambled on war for decades without success," he said.

http://news.yahoo.com

Apparently, according to Saudi Arabia, Islamic terrorism, suicide bombings, and the senseless slaughter of innocent civilians is an acceptable consequence of Israel's existence. The heart and mind of Muslims, after all, aspires for world peace - once the Kuffar bows to the will of Allah and either converts to Islam, submits to his Muslim masters, or dies. So you see, it isn't the Muslims who oppose peace. It's the Jews and Infidels who refuse to be enslaved.

Annapolis - They Just Don't Get It

Washington says the hard work will begin only afterward, when Israelis and Palestinians must tackle the issues at the core of the conflict -- Palestinian refugee rights, Jerusalem, security and the borders of a future Palestine.

"This conference will signal international support for the Israelis' and Palestinians' intention to commence negotiations on the establishment of a Palestinian state and the realization of peace between these two peoples," Bush said in welcoming the two Middle East leaders who arrived over the weekend.

Congressman Eric Cantor gets it:

(Hat Tip: BigRed)

The Palestinians have shown nothing to indicate they are even capable of controlling a state. They are barbaric savages, who only understand violence and street justice.

This is to whom we want to give a state?

Olmert To Release Hundreds More Palestinian Prisoners

Yet again, Israel releases prisoners as a "good-will" gesture. My question is: What has Israel ever received in return for these good-will gestures?

Israel will release 300 to 400 Palestinian prisoners before the Annapolis summit later this month as a good-will gesture to the Palestinian Authority and its chairman, Mahmoud Abbas.

But this number falls far short of the nearly 2,000 Abbas had requested from Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. The list will not include prisoners who were involved in killing Israelis, described as having "blood on their hands."

The release of the prisoners will be the only good-will gesture before Annapolis. Defense Minister Ehud Barak and the security chiefs are adamant in their opposition to lifting any roadblocks or checkpoints along roadways in the West Bank, fearing that this would undermine security and make it easier for terrorists to strike.

The U.S. has made it clear to Israel that while it recognizes its security needs, if Israel cannot dismantle roadblocks and lift restrictions on Palestinian freedom of movement, it must at least try to improve the way Palestinians are treated at checkpoints and shorten the waiting time.
