Robert Spencer On Islam & The Crusades

This is a bit old, but the information contained is timeless.

This fascinating interview took place shortly after Robert Spencer released his book, "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades)". The host is Bill Handel at KFI AM 640.

Blogging The Qur'an

Below is Robert Spencer's complete series "Blogging the Qur'an." This is a must read for any person with a sincere interest in learning more about the Quran and how it inspires Islamic terrorists into committing atrocities against other human beings.

Read what the Muslim holy book really says about women, non-Muslims, Jews, slavery, peace, war, and everything else our PC Government and Islamic apologists don't want you to know. For easy reference, you might want to have a Quran nearby to crosscheck. I recommend THIS one, which has three different popular translations. You can also download a Quran at Scribd.com.

As Robert writes in the introduction:

To understand the motives and goals of Islamic jihad terrorists, one good place to start might be to explore what they themselves say about why they’re doing what they’re doing, and what they want. That in turn will lead you to the Qur’an (or Koran), the Islamic holy book. The jihadists quote it frequently and portray themselves as those who are following “pure Islam,” the genuine article as it is taught in the Qur’an and Islamic tradition. So in the course of my work explaining the jihadists’ objectives, I’ve quoted the Qur’an a great deal – and hardly a day goes by without my being accused of “cherry-picking” violent passages, and quoting them “out of context.” Meanwhile, the Council on American Islamic Relations and other Muslim groups say that in order to understand the true, peaceful Islam, we should read the Qur’an.

So over the course of the next few months, I’m going to read it, and discuss it in a series of columns. All of it. Not “cherry-picked” or “out of context.” The whole thing, beginning to end.

Download it, read it, and share it. Knowledge is power.

[UPDATE] You can download the pdf HERE or HERE. If you can host the file anywhere, please do and please send me a link!

Muslim Persecution of Christians

Robert Spencer writes about a new short video on the Muslim persecution of Christians in the Middle East.

Christianity, born in the Middle East, is in danger of losing its two millenia-long presence there. If that notion sounds alarmist to Western ears, it is acknowledged by Middle Easterners as a growing likelihood.

“I fear the extinction of Christianity in Iraq and the Middle East,” said the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Baghdad, Jean Benjamin Sleiman, as Pope Benedict XVI visited that troubled region this week. The Lebanese Christian columnist Sarkis Naoum added: “Unless there is a turn toward secularism in the Arab world, I don’t think there is a future for Christians here.” In 1909, the Middle East was 20 percent Christian; one hundred years later, that percentage has fallen to five percent.

This precipitous decline is chronicled and explained in a detailed historical video entitled Muslim Persecution of Christians, produced by the Terrorism Awareness Project. The video, which is embedded below, recounts contemporary examples of anti-Christian violence, and the Islamic theology that justifies and intensifies it.

As the video demonstrates, the resurgence of the Islamic jihad and Islamic supremacism around the world in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries can be directly correlated with the declining Christian population. As Muslims, influenced by Salafi movements to restore the “purity” of Islamic governance, reassert traditional Islamic legal stipulations mandating and institutionalizing discrimination against and harassment of Christians, Christians all over the Islamic world are feeling the heat.

Islam: What The West Needs To Know

"In no way is Islamic shariah - Islamic government - compatible with Western understandings of human rights and freedom of conscience. Traditional Islam forbids conversion from Islam, forbids anyone to leave Islam. There's no way out. And it forbids Muslims and non-Muslims to live as equals in society. It mandates the second-class status of non-Muslims, forbidding them to hold authority over Muslims, forbidding them to hold certain jobs as a result. It even mandated in history that houses of worship of Jews and Christians were neither to be built or repaired, making communities relegated to a perpetual state of decline."
~Robert Spencer

Genocide - any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such:

  • killing members of the group;
  • causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
  • deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life, calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
  • imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
  • forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.

Robert Spencer: The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (And The Crusades)

It's pretty self-explanatory, but this is an audio interview that aired in 2006. KFI-AM's Bill Handel talks to Robert Spencer about his (then) new book, "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (And The Crusades)". Enjoy.

Robert Spencer's Five-Point Plan To End Islamophobia

In the UK, a Muslim activist group has launch an ad campaign to show "Islam is peace." The BBC reports:

An advertising campaign promoting British Muslims as integrated citizens who reject extremism has been launched.

Islam is Peace - formed after the bombings in London in July 2005 - has initially placed adverts on the capital's buses and Underground trains.

They show a range of Muslims - including a policewoman, a Scout group and the chef Michael Barry - with the slogan "Proud to be a British Muslim".

Organisers say research shows many Britons associate Islam with terrorism.

The project outlines a five-point plan, all focused on changing the perception of Islam and promoting it as a religion based in peace.

Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch has made a Hot Air video revealing his own five-point plan:

According to Robert, to end Islamophobia, Muslims should:

  • Focus their indignation on Muslims committing violent acts in the name of Islam, not on non-Muslims reporting those acts.
  • Renounce definitively, not just terrorism, but any intention to replace the US Constitution or the British Constitution, or the Constitution of any non-Muslim state, with Islamic Sharia law, even by peaceful means.
  • Teach Muslims the imperative of co-existing as equals with non-Muslims on an indefinite basis.
  • Begin comprehension, international programs in Mosques all over the world to teach against the ideas of violent Jihad and Islamic supremacism.
  • Actively work with Western law-enforcement officials to identify and apprehend Jihadis within Western Muslim communities.
